About Jesse Fonner

Stanford's Jesse Fonner has received accolades
for his rigorous training methods with amateur divers.     

After graduating from Stanford University with a BA and MA in Sociology with a focus on Urban Planning as pertains to pedestrian safety, Jesse Fonner moved to the nation's majestic capitol where he interned at the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and Smart Growth America (SGA) before landing a full-time job at the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) in Capitol Hill, Washington D.C.  In addition to his government career, Jesse also coaches Gallaudet University's varsity dive team in the evenings.

Jesse is a veteran springboard and tower diver who trained with the Montgomery Dive Club in Rockville, Maryland from 1993 through 2000 and competed on the Junior Olympic circuit, placing in the top ten nationally from 1995 through 2000.

Jesse competed for Stanford University from 2000 through 2005.  He retired from competitive diving in 2006, but is still involved with the sport through coaching and continues to dive in his free time with participation in the occassional masters dive meet here and there.
